DICK AND JANEFeb 09, 2008
By Christopher S. Taylor I purchased this book because I am interested in starting my own Freight Brokerage Business. In order to start your own brokerage company you "must" already know how to broker freight. What I am looking for is detailed information about where to start and everything that is needed to startup. This book just gives a "very simple" explanation about how you broker freight. This was a total waste of my money!!!! I have been in the trucking business for 21 yrs and have brokered freight for about 8 years so I already know in general what needs to be done. I need a book that is much much more informative about HOW TO START A FREIGHT BROKERAGE!!!

Broker ReviewNov 10, 2009
By Dwight Rich This book is an elementary review of freight brokering. It resembles a pamplet and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Good tipsNov 27, 2009
By K. Macwilliams This book has great tips on certain topics. However, the book really doesn't have a personal feel to it. Being a freight broker is a lot more complicated then this book makes it out to be. It also really glazes over topics that shouldn't be glazed over, like forming a customer base. The order in which the material is presented is also a bit lacking. For example, we discover what kind of money it takes to start the business, at the end of the book. It almost seems they are trying to portray this as a get rich quick scheme, instead of a fully functional self starting career.
