Struggling gym owners can learn how to make money, for real!Jul 22, 1999
I have been in the fitness business for 2 years and I 've been just breaking even, until I received this book from a friend that has a Gold's Gym. I was doing what was wrong with most gyms and trying to make it work. This book has given me a new perspective and by implementing just a few of the suggestions in this book, things are already turning around. My next 6 months should be very interesting. I would highly suggest this book for any owner even the ones that are making money, because you could always make more.

From member service to financial foundation, this book gives you the most useful information on operating a gym. I recommend every gym owner read it and have their staff read it as well.

All a gym owner needs to know about being in business.May 07, 1999
I wish I had this book 15 years ago when I first started my fitness business. It's easy to read and down to the point and full of tips about making money that I can apply right now in my business. Everyone who is in business or who is thinking about starting a business should read this book.

A Great ReadMay 10, 2006
By Joseph Amelar I am 18 years old and very interested in running a gym in the future. I believe this book can help me enormously. I worked at the front desk of a low budget gym, selling memberships for 6 months. I had a great time, but members constantly complained about the broken machines. Even so, members renewed their contracts at a pretty constant rate. By reading this book, I was able to target the pros and cons of the gym that I worked at, and I am even more excited about having a chance to possibly get involved in the fitness industry on a high level.

The Fitness Business is the Hospitality BusinessNov 02, 2007
By Lynn Hoffman, author:The Short Course in Beer This is the book that I used in a college-level hospitality course. My department-hospitality management-was interested in showing that the principles and orientations of a successful hotel or restaurant applied to many other businesses as well. One of the obvious choices was the fitness/spa business which depends on customer perception of value received and on a strict attention to cost controls and sales and marketing. This book was the only one that had a useful perspective and that covered all the relevant aspects of running a fitness operation. Of course, no book can prepare you with all the answers about any business, but this one certainly started students out with the right questions.
