this unit works, it is easy and you can change the names of the artists and or title of the album in itunes so
you only need to identify each cut with the ion.

Very easy to use, but the tape drives don't look like they will last very long. They don't play as my other tape players.

After reading all the negative reviews I was a bit wary but what the hell, it's only money. It does EXACTLY what it says it does. It's not sophisticated but it plays tapes. I do not like the software that comes with it but then again I hate iTunes. I downloaded Audacity for my PC and it works perfectly. If you do not already have a cassette player (which I no longer had) and you don't want to mess with audio cables and crawling around behind your computer (which I didn't) the ease of pluggin in a USB cable and digitizing your old tapes is nice. The operative word is OLD tapes. sometimes the tapes can start getting sticky or tight and you may have problems stemming from this. But for a simple solution the deck works well. And if you like iTunes or use it regularly the software that comes with the deck will probably work fine for you. But if you want to edit the tracks in any way, get Audacity (it's free). And the deck DOES work with Windows 7, just make sure you read the manual and the "quick start" guide.

Just got the item and so far it is great! I absolutely love this. The only complaint that I have is that it seems that you can only save into iTunes rather than WMV files. Other than that, the product is great and I highly recommend this to all.

1Don't buy unless you know a lot about computers and audioMay 27, 2010
I loaded the EZ Vinyl Tape Converter software and iTunes immediately hijacked my computer. I could not use Windows Media to play even a CD. In short, the software, without my permission, made iTunes the default player program for my computer. I resent that. I would like to have the choice or know before loading the EZ Vinyl Tape Converter what the consequences will be. After some trying various things, I discovered a way to play CDs unsing Windows Media.

Next I plugged the Ion Tape to PC deck into my computer and found that I could not get any sound out of the speakers. I spent over an hour trying every thing I could think of and could not get sound out of my speakers. I went through all of the Windows trouble shooting instruction with no luck. I thought I might have a faulty sound card, but the Device Manager said everything was working. Eventually I unplugged the Ion Tape to PC deck from the USB port. Then I decided to try to play a CD one more time. I could hear it! I plugged the deck back in and the sound was gone. Somehow the deck interfers with sound playback when it is plugged in. I don't get it, and there is no live tech service to help me get it. I sent an email through their Contact Us channel, but did not hear back from them this day.

I am sending my deck back. I'll buy a Sony cassette deck and copy my tapes through the Audio In jack on my computer. That I understand.
