Comprehensive Home Recording GuideJan 15, 2011

This is a great book for someone who is looking to improve their home recordings. It is well written and covers essential topics from the basics to in-depth information about mics and mic placement for different instruments, pre-amps, compression, EQ as well as studio acoustics, monitoring, effects processing etc. The book also has a great glossary of terms and their definitions.
The best thing about this book may be the audio examples via links to .wav files, not to mention links to other sites for more detailed information on important subjects like studio and room acoustics, audio plug-ins, mastering etc.
This book is the perfect balance of the technical and practical.
