Excellent ResourceFeb 15, 2007
By John P. Choisser

We own a San Diego interior design company (Anna Rode Designs), and frequently are called on to give advice to home sellers on ways to make their homes stand out from the crowd without spending a fortune. This book is an excellent reference for homeowners, who should take their advice seriously. Of course, it can't provide design advice like interior designers can, but it is full of sound pointers that any homeowner can do: de-cluttering, brightening rooms, cleaning, painting, eliminating personal items, and so forth. We recommend this book to our clients.

Any involved in home renovations and home sales needs thisMay 12, 2007
By Midwest Book Review Plenty of books tell how to buy and sell homes and others how to remodel; but for a specific book on getting the most from a remodel project, HOME MAKEOVERS THAT SELL is the item of choice. Here are tips based not on home renovations but on over twenty years of experience as a real estate broker; from creating curb appeal by replacing shrubs and refinishing a driveway to using accent lights to make the most of a home's natural beauty. Any involved in home renovations and home sales needs this, so public libraries will find it a popular lend.

Not exactly what I hoped it would beSep 10, 2010
By GLarsson This isn't a bad book, it's just not what I had hoped it would be. I was looking for a book to give me some pointers for staging my home for sale. This book is aimed more towards people who are doing For Sale By Owner. It goes way more into the selling process when I was interested basically in the preparing process. The one point that I walked away with from this book is repairs are always necessary, but remodels/renovations will probably not pay for themselves in a higher selling price.
A small criticism, is that the book refers to selling in a market that was several years ago. It's clear that this book was written in a seller's market, distinctly different from what we are experiencing now.

Kindle VersionJul 18, 2011
By Donna Ruschell Just downloaded the Kindle version and am stopped by "Figure 1. Uniform Residential Appraisal Report" because the type is too tiny to read and can't be re-sized. Seems too late to reverse the sale of the book, too. :(

Great book with great ideas to help you sell your house!!Oct 26, 2009
By Ronald
"Atlanta guy"
I already knew most of the things discussed in this book, but it was VERY helpful in getting my "head screwed on straight" and remembering the things people look at when they are "buyers". We too often look at selling our house from a "sellers" eyes, not a buyers which heck is the way we can make more money!!'
Great book with great suggestions and heck you can even save money a buy used or new on Amazon, a win, win!!
