2Not the best product but OK for an amateurDec 06, 2007
By Stephen Ford "Goss"
I bought these because I am disabled and have been trying to learn to do different crafts and just basic playing around with building things. I remembered a friend of mine (An airplane mechanic) had a pair of these (Not this brand) to twist wire together. If you are looking for a cheap pair of twisters this is a good product... however the design of the lock doesn't hold very well under tension (it tends to come loose at very inopportune times). However since I am not a professional it will work for the small rinky-dink projects I bought it for. I would suggest going with one of the more expensive types that would have a little better locking mechanism on them.

3Good for the moneyMay 11, 2010
By TP Coltrain "human extraordinaire"
These are inexpensive, so-so quality, Chinese-made wire-twisting pliers. Mine worked. I've used them mainly to wire grips on to motorcycles (instead of using glue). I've also used them for a couple of other random things where I really wanted to use a wire to cinch down tight on something.

Tonight I was working on my bike that I haven't ridden in 6+ months. As I was wrapping up the work and doing the finishing touches, I got around to wiring on the new grips. I thought to myself how fast it was going and how I was glad I got these pliers. I'm generally picky about tools and I will spend double the standard price for something if I can get it made in the USA or notably high-quality. I thought, "hmmph, these have done well for being so inexpensive." Then -- drop! I pick them up from their 4 foot drop and a weld is broken and the tool is unusable. Doh!

I expect to be able to fix it by welding or brazing it, but in general I'd say the tool is toast. I'd still buy another one just like it and just not drop the next one. To get a non-cheap / non-chinese knock-off the cheapest I've seen is over $100 which is way too much for a tool that is essentially a convenience. All this does it make it very quick and easy to twist wires together -- something you can do with a standard pair of pliers if you're careful and patient.

I ordered Safety Wire pliers and received a tool which was asymmeterical and would not properly close, cut or lock. I called the third-party vendor and complained and was told I could send them back, which I did. I have yet to hear anything more.

3Pliers - Safety WireNov 25, 2011

This is fair product. If I was going to use this product regularily, I would have bought a better version. This is a cheap Chinese model. It looks like it may have been made in a garage and it is difficult to use. But, it was a low price.

2Cheap learners pliersJul 06, 2011

The pliers were hard to use at first very stiff, and then the metal bent so they could no longer be used. They are made very cheap and I should have thought about it more since they were going to be used for motorcycles and other odds and end things. My suggestion is not to purchase these go for a more name brand approach because these are not worth it and a name brand is only a few dollars more. They are made in China btw there is no name on these at all!
